Eliza Presson is an associate with the Special Education & Disability Rights and Civil Rights groups. She represents children with disabilities and their families in special education, negligence, and civil rights matters. Prior to joining KCS, Eliza was a senior supervising attorney at a Boston public interest law firm, where she represented families of children with unmet mental health needs to access services from school districts, public and commercial health insurers, and state agencies, including the Department of Mental Health and the Department of Developmental Services. In that role, she managed partnerships with interdisciplinary teams of healthcare providers supporting children with complex health needs, and she provided trainings on special education, school discipline, state agencies, and the state juvenile court system to attorneys, caregivers, physicians, behavioral health providers, community health workers, and other stakeholders throughout the Commonwealth. She has also represented young people in child welfare and complex custody matters in Washington, DC. Directly after law school, she served as a fellow at an education nonprofit in Philadelphia.
