The Schott Foundation for Public Education recently released a new report entitled "Love is the Foundation for Life: Schott Report on Black Males in Public Education."  In this report, they share that while high school graduation rates for Black students across the country may have improved by 14%, the racial disparity in high school completion continues to be stark between Black and White males. Of the 15 examined school districts, a whopping 13 had lower graduation rates amongst their Black male student population in comparison to their white, male counterparts. On some occasions, the disparity was as large as 17-22%.

Black life expectancy declined by four years following the pandemic, a trend that high school graduation can play a key role in reversing.
